Last year every primary four pupil in Fife was invited to join the library and was given a ‘Superstar Reader Card’, thanks to funding from the Scottish Government. Since then, Fife Libraries has been searching to find a reader who could inspire others.

And this year’s winner was Daanyaal, who is a regular visitor to the library at Kirkcaldy Galleries.

Since June 1 last year he has read 123 books.

This week he was presented with a new bike, thanks to Halfords, and Sir Chris Hoy’s height in books – that’s around 6ft 5in worth. Fife Cultural Trust would like to thank Scotia and Chameleon books in Kilsyth for sponsoring the prize.
