ALTHOUGH we may not refer to the festive season as ‘the holidays’ like our friends across the pond, there’s no doubt that the Coca-Cola Christmas jingle which plays every year does still capture the mood.

An exciting part of the ‘holidays are coming, holidays are coming’ advert is of course the lit up Coca-Cola truck convoy, which makes its way across snowy scenery, featuring families amazed at the sight plus Santa glugging on a bottle of the famous soft drink.

For many the advert marks the start of the festive period, and residents in Anstruther can be part of the magic themselves when the truck stops off in the Burgh on Monday, November 28.

It will arrive at the Co-op store on St Andrews Road and will be there from 4-8pm to bring a touch of early Christmas sparkle to the area for young and old.

Local people are being invited down to see the Coca-Cola Christmas icon as it comes to life, join in the celebration on the day and enjoy the one-off opportunity to have your picture taken with the world famous truck.

The stop in Anstruther is part of the truck’s nationwide tour, travelling 6000 miles and delivering seasonal cheer to millions of people as it makes 100 stops at towns, cities and supermarkets across Great Britain and Ireland.

Zoe Howorth, Coca-Cola Great Britain market activation director, said: “The iconic Christmas Coca-Cola trucks from the ‘Holidays Are Coming’ advertising campaign, are loved by millions of people across the world, and for many their appearance signals the start of the unofficial countdown to Christmas.

“We’re really excited to be building festive anticipation across the country, including Anstruther, propelling the nation into celebratory action and spreading some holiday spirit along the way.”
