The country singing star will record a brand new series of ‘The Janey Kirk TV Show’ at the Caird Hall in Dundee for a newly launched TV channel after its owner declared himself a fan of her first.

Janey said: “For the last six or so years I have been involved here and there with the increasing trend on various Sky TV country channels, what with interviews, guest appearances.

“I gained a lot of in-depth experience and knew it was something I had to do for myself.

“So last year I got a camera crew, hired a couple of venues to perform in and invited some busy singers/entertainers from Scotland to be my guests and the Janey Kirk TV Show was born.”

The programme aired in March last year and the 13 half hour episodes proved a success.

“Me and my band were selling out theatres across the central belt and throughout Scotland.

“The TV show was a very time consuming project and I felt that the 13 shows was enough.

“However, since then, a brand new channel has emerged called ‘Keep It Country TV’ and I got a call from Phil Mac who also has a TV show and who now owns the new channel, asking me, due to popular demand, if I could possibly produce more shows.”

Janey says she “jumped” at the chance and has a whole host of famous guest stars lined up for her second series.

“Phil has offered to air all the previous episodes and we have already recorded five shows for this series.

“As well as up and coming singers, we will have established ones featuring on the show - and of course the very famous too!

“Lena Martell, Rose Marie, Leapy Lee, Philomena Begley, PJ Proby, Becky Hobbs, and Tony Burrows will perform on the new shows.”

Filming will take place at the Caird Hall from 10am on Wednesday, March 30 and anyone wishing to be in the audience is invited to go along. Janey will have as special guest Charlie Landsborough, whom she recently recorded with.

She said: “I had an email from 60s/70s icon Tommy Roe to record a self penned song called ‘It’s For You I’m Me’ and this has led to many other recordings with other famous names, so I’ll be releasing a duets album sometime this year.

“I also have a lovely young daughter called Carla who has seen a great deal of success due to her appearances on the show,

“Its all happening!”
