Cupar residents encouraged to visit fostering pop up

Curious Cupar residents have been encouraged to visit Fife Council's fostering pop up event this summer to discover what it takes to become a carer.

Beginning August 4, itwill take place at Cupar Library on the first Tuesday of every month from 9.30am to 12.30pm.

Fifers can learn different aspects of foster care, including the process needed to get involved, payment for carers, support and training available, and an open forum for unanswered questions.

Fife Council will also put to bed common myths surrounding the service such as, fostering if you're single, in a same-sex relationship, or don't own your home.

Kelly Blaik, Fife Council's fostering team manager, said: "We know that becoming a foster carer is a lifestyle choice, not just a job. So, we find lots of people thinking about fostering like talking to a real person about it.

“You can get a lot of information online, but face-to-face conversations and getting to ask questions to foster carers or team members helps people make the decision a lot easier.”
