Jackie, who revealed to the world last December that she is living with incurable cancer, returned to the theatre after embracing Fife Cultural Trust’s, Name A Seat campaign, with husband Steve.

Each plaque has a personal engraving, and the couple are the first to have their messages mounted on the seats at Carnegie Hall. “We had to be sure that we were happy with anyone reading them as they are now up for the world to see,” laughed Jackie. “My future is very uncertain, and if anything should happen to me, I love the idea that Steve and I had a seat together side by side at the theatre, even if I’m no longer here.”

Steve, a graduate from the Arts Educational School in London, enjoyed a 20-year career in the West End before moving to Kirkcaldy to marry Jackie in 2003. The campaign proceeds go to the Trust and he believes that giving back to the Arts is a worthwhile thing to do.

So if you’re heading to a show, you can see Jackie and Steve’s plaques on Row E seats 9 and 10.
