Fife’s greatest gigs: Alhambra’s choices

editorial image

The Alhambra Theatre in Dunfermline is the biggest in Fife, and has played hoste some ssome of the biggest concerts staged here in recent years.

We invited the staff at the venue to pick their own favourite gigs fgrom the countless hundreds staged at the Dunfermline venue:

Paolo Nutini, Alhambra, May 18, 2009

This was the first time that Paolo played at the Alhambra. The gig was a sell out with patrons travelling from all over Fife and beyond. From the moment Paolo walked on the Alhambra stage, the atmosphere was superb. Such a memorable gig for the theatre and for Fife.

Belle & Sebastian, Alhambra,
November 1, 2015

Having followed their career from the very start and even flown to Iceland to see them, bringing them to Dunfermline was a proud moment. Not even Stuart Murdoch’s sore throat could dampen the enthusiasm in the crowd.

Texas, Alhambra, April 2015

From the moment Sharleen Spiteri exploded on the stage the atmosphere was electric. The audience was engaged from start to finish and I loved the fact that Sharleen came off the stage at one point to interact with the sell-out crowd. Fantastic gig from start to finish.

SARA TEMPLETON, Box OOfice Manager, Alhambra Theatre

Frightened Rabbit, Alhambra, April 2016

My favourite Alhambra Theatre gig was Frightened Rabbit who performed their sold-out Painting of a Panic Attack Tour on 13th April 2016. I’ve seen the band a few times now and it was
brilliant experience to see them performing at a local venue with such a great atmosphere.
