The Who, Carlton, Kirkcaldy 1969
In the same week as Pinball Wizard was released the Who played the Carlton as booked by Bert Caira. By 1969 Carlton must have been a bingo hall as we have no records of cinema activity and for this appearance it is thought that the Who played two shows.
Elton John, Kinema, Dunfermline, 1971
Valentine’s Day 1971 and already his best known song (Your Song) was already in the can and a hit in the US where it was a B-side, it would only take off globally later that year.
Van Morrison, Rick Wakeman - Fife Aid 2 Craigtoun Park,1988
Introduced by David Bellamy as ‘World Earth Day’ this was an impressive line up with Go West, John Martyn, Rick Wakeman and Van Morrison closing the show promoting his Irish Heartbeat album. Van played sax and had everyone on the feet with Mairi’s wedding.
Atomic Rooster, Adam Smith, Kirkcaldy 1971
Hot off the success of the single Tomorrow Night, this was loud and heavy at the old Beveridge Halls.
