This was no nostalgia-led, weary slog through a back catologue of a band well past its best.
The Beat simply exploded onto the stage and didn’t let up through a two-hour set that was simply relentless.
The hits sounded as vital and energetic as the day they were recorded, there were a few well-chosen ska classics thrown in a a fantatstic take on The Clash’s ‘Rock The Casbah’. 35 years on this was a band still at its very best.
Oh, and it was boiling!
