A separate plan to change the first and second floor to a residential property for owner, Steven Martin, has also been approved.

His plans were detailed in the weekly planning update from the local authority.

The three-storey C-Listed building, which sits on the corner of the High Street and Kirkgate, dates from the late 19th century. It lies within the town’s conservation area.

It was built by a local butcher as his business premises with his family home above. The ground floor was later turned into a restaurant.
