Following the opening at the Garden Party on June 19, there followed a week full of fun and cheer in the village, including a tea party at Lomond View Care Home, pub quizzes, live entertainment and, of course, the week’s grand finale, the street fair which was held last Saturday.

After a wet start to the day whilst organisers were setting up, thankfully the skies dried up and left a warm and cheery day for everyone to enjoy.

Keeping to the dinosaur theme, ‘Tyrant the Dinosaur’ led the childrens parade into the village square and down the high street.

And throughout the day there were a number of activities to get involved with, including Zumba, hill racing and falconry handling, making sure there was something for everyone.

Many participants reckoned this year was much bigger and better than before, with one stall holder commenting: “It’s great to see different community groups and local traders come together.

“I thought there was a lot more there this year than in previous years and there seemed to be a great atmosphere”.

“The dinosaur theme went down great and everyone got involved with dressing up and decorating their stalls and shops with prehistoric decorations.

“This year was a bit bigger than normal and next year we intend to make it even better.”
