GAMA all set for a truly golden year

And they will be helped by two musicians with a strong connection to the organisation.

Seonaid Aitken and Bruce Davies will be entertaining the audience at Rothes Halls on Saturday evening for a very special fundraising concert.

Other celebrations are planned for the year including the Scottish premiere of the musical comedy ‘Betty Blue Eyes’ and a gala dinner.

Violinist Seonaid is one of the country’s most versatile musicians, working as a cabaret artist worldwide and with her gypsy jazz band, Rose Room.

Her compositions and arrangements are heard on TV and film scores, including the series ‘Jericho’, yet she still finds time to take her role as GAMA’s honorary vice president very seriously.

While singer-songwriter Bruce has performed throughout the UK and America.

His wife Sandra is a playing member and on the GAMA committee and Bruce supports her in her efforts with the company in whatever way possible.

Both artists will invite members of the GAMA chorus to join them on the stage and they will come together for a few special items on Saturday night, promising an evening that is not to be missed.

But when it comes to this weekend’s concert, Bruce said the musicians are both excited: “It will be a special thrill to share the stage with Seonaid.

“She contributed hugely to my most recent album and, though I’ve been fortunate to work with some great musicians in many parts of the world, she is in a different league.

“As well as being a stunning violinist/fiddler and singer, she is the consummate entertainer. The audience is in for a real treat.”

The concert begins at 7.30pm.
