The society offered £1 tickets for under-16s for a matinee performance of HMS Pinafore last year – a move that attracted lots of families. It’s hoping this latest cut-price offer will prove just as popular.

Society president Peter Sutton said: “The programme will encompass some Burns Night classics as well as some wonderful music from the Gilbert and Sullivan canon.”

The concert will take place in Holy Trinity Church hall, starting at 8pm and lasting roughly an hour and a half.

This is the first event in a busy semester for the society, with performances of The Golden Legend, at Holy Trinity Church, on February 13, and The Yeomen of the Guard, in Younger Hall, on April 14 and 15.
