Goodbye to Viewforth High '“ Sharron Reekie


She said: “Mrs Shearer was one of my favourite teachers and Latin was my favourite subject. I liked Mr Dales although I was never any good at geography! Mr Bruce who taught modern studies, was another one of my favourite teachers – probably because he treated us like mini adults.
“I loved English due to Mr Black giving me encouragement and the confidence to develop my flare for writing stories and poems.

Hide Ad“I was frightened of Mr Jolly, the rector, like many of us. However, Mr Wallace, depute head was strict but very fair and approachable. Viewforth allowed me to gain good grades which led to me being accepted to Dundee University to train as a midwife. I met my best friend in Wendy Allan in S3 and have remained best friends with her for 28 years!


“The pupils in my year were a great bunch and I strongly believe this contributed to me enjoying my whole experience at Viewforth for the six years.
“I can honestly say that I wouldn’t have done anything differently - I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Viewforth.”
