Friend, guitarist and producer Willie Logan offered Jackie and husband Steve the use of his home studio to allow the Kirkcaldy musician – who has was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2013 – to record a compilation of meaningful songs.

The singer has set her heart on recording a final album with husband Steve Thiebault as a legacy to their love.

Without the luxury of time on her hands Jackie was keen to “lay down some vocals” as quickly as possible. She said: “I have now done two studio days and despite being in the early stages of the process, I am aware that time is an issue.”

The public crowdfund campaign to raise money for the pricey recording process has now finished. But contributions don’t have to stop there. “If people are still able to donate please do. The sleeve design, royalty costs and admin details all adds up. And we need money to keep coming.”

Jackie and Steve were overwhelmed by the response the public have shown.

She said:“When we started we weren’t even sure if we would get £50! People have been so generous and although we are off our target we have more than enough to start with, which with limited time to play with, is great.”
