A Kennoway woman has become an unlikely online sensation after a video of her mock ‘style tips’ on Facebook went viral.
In the video Sandra Boylan (64) demonstrates her techniques for looking good, such as using lipstick to give herself rosy cheeks, getting an instant facelift and hiding wrinkles by wrapping sellotape around her head and wearing a hat to hide a bad hair day.
Inspired by the countless makeup tips on Facebook, Sandra wanted to share her tips for the ‘older woman’.
The video of the grandmother-of-six has made her an online star and has racked up over 600,000 views, with people all around the world watching and leaving comments.
The success of the video has also made her Kennoway’s first viral sensation and already her tips are getting her recognised.
She said: “I was out in town the other day and two people stopped me in the street and asked if I was that woman in the video.”
However, Sandra, who made the video to mark her 64th birthday, would’ve never become a local celebrity if not for the intervention of a family member.
“I just did it for friends and family,” she explained. “I just do stupid things – that’s what I’m like. I had it set for just family and friends to see on Facebook but my nephew said it was really funny and that I should make it public.”
Despite posting the video with the caption ‘A wee video I have made for my friends of Facebook’, the video has attracted hundreds of thousands of views and comments.
However, it’s clear her new found fame hasn’t gone to her head.
Sandra said: “Someone told me I had 500,000 views.
“I don’t even know what that means.
“I’ve got people from everywhere leaving comments. It’s cool to be making people laugh.”
