Determined not forfeit all links to her music career following a terminal cancer diagnosis in 2013, Jackie set about creating a final musical swan song, with husband and fellow musician Steve Thiebault, as a legacy to their love.

A heartwarming response to Jackie’s plea for help to fund the album was met by the public and now – with the aid of music professionals the world over – 1000 copies will be produced.

Each CD costs £10 with 100 per cent of the profits going towards Maggie’s Fife, where an introductory launch evening will allow people to meet Jackie, buy the album and, for those who haven’t visited, see what the cancer centre is all about.

“This is a great chance for people to see what Maggie’s is all about,” explained Jackie. “People have a preconceived notion of what the centre is, but I am hoping the CD launch will show people that there is nothing to be scared about – and it would be absolutely fantastic to be able to sell all of the CDs.”

Starting at 6.30pm, visitors can have a relaxed look around the centre, a chat with Jackie and enjoy some wine and cheese. “I want people to come and enjoy the ambience and see where the money from the album will go and the good that it will do.”

Jackie is also planning an official launch at Carnegie Hall, details of which will be announced soon.

“This is a chance for those who might not be able to make the concert at Carnegie Hall, to pick up the album, and also an ideal opportunity for those who like to be familiar with the music before they go to a concert to buy the CD.”

Despite her failing health and complications that affect Jackie’s everyday life, she remains startlingly positive – her ever present passion for making music and her zest for living every bit of life, shines through.

“I am excited for people to hear the music and for them to understand how important this is to me, to Steve, to Maggie’s,” she said.

“It has been such a fun process and I am grateful to everyone who has been involved and helped along the way.”

The final album artwork was designed by Fife College graphic design student Daniel Foy. “When I saw his pitch, I just knew it was the one,” Jackie admitted. “I just had a connection to it.”

With Steve’s help, Jackie and Daniel have worked on the album sleeve design to make the perfect final product for Behind Her Eyes, available after the launch date from Maggie’s Fife and Amazon.
