Dom, whose Migele Experience Salon is in Whytescauseway, is transforming people who have overcome a personal challenge and changed their lives for the better.

“I’ve started a challenge programme called Transformations, where I invite people who have transformed their lives to let me transform their style. The challenge is open to anyone who has beaten adversity and proved something to themselves. People who overcome life’s challenges deserve some pampering,” said Dom.

His first Transformation client was 36-year-old travel agent Emma McDermott from Glenrothes.

Emma shed over five stones and won a slimming award. After an initial consultation with Dom, Emma was invited to Migele Experience and treated to a complete restyle, colour, makeover and finished off with clothes from New Look in Kirkcaldy.

A delighted Emma said: “I loved my makeover. I was happy to have lost the weight but after I found a lump in my breast I was unable to continue training for a marathon so I was a bit down. When I was chosen for a Transformation it really lifted me. I’ve had the all-clear and I’m back in training again. I was always up for trying new things and my new look is the icing on the cake.”

Emma who recently lost her mother in law to cancer will run in next May’s
Edinburgh Marathon for charity.

Dom added: “I got the idea of giving something back from a New York salon. The people of Kirkcaldy have been good to me and I thought I could do that.”
