Local gig for Fife autism charity

On Saturday, a fundraising event is being staged for Autism Rocks (Fife) by Fife, The Up and Coming.

Autism Rocks (Fife), co-founded and chaired by Methil woman, Liza Quin, and based presently in Buckhaven, supports Fife children, teenagers, adults and their families affected by autism, providing meeting sessions and raising awareness of an often misunderstood condition.

The fundraising event is being held at Buckhaven Community Centre, in Kinnear Street, in two parts.

From noon to 4pm, it’ll be a family fun day, with stalls from various organisations, sand dart by Kids Bee Happy, and inflatables for all ages – provided by World of Parties – on which youngsters and adults can have fun.

Attendance for this part of the day is free, with a small fee for unlimited use wristbands for the inflatables.

From 7pm-midnight, a evening of live entertainment will take place for over 18s only, complete with licensed bar and a selection of different styles and genres of music from a range of Fife bands. Tickets are available through the Fife The Up and Coming Facebook page.

Artists include Shannon McAllister, Lost In Vancouver, Cody Feechan and Open Minded Skeptics.

Ben Stanley, event organiser, said: “Bringing the community together to support a charity and raise funds to help those that live in the community we live in seemed like a worthwhile and just cause – also allowing members of the community to come together and enjoy the fun together.”
