Hide AdJillian Golightly, depute headteacher, has been working hard with the Dunnikier Parent Fundraising Group to raise money over the past 12 months to upgrade the play facilities meaning children and families can use the space during and outwith the school day.
Headteacher Ann Hatch said: “In order to make the most of our limited space it was also important for us to take core learning outdoors.
“Our pupils and staff voted and the pupil council had the final decision. Many of our new playground markings develop literacy, numeracy and health and wellbeing, while supporting children to play together.
“We have a diverse school community and we felt it was important to make everyone feel included and welcome so we had ‘hello/welcome’ written in 10 languages on footsteps towards our main entrance.
Ann added: “All in all everyone is delighted with the new, bright attractive playground.”
