New tribute to launch in Glenrothes on Man in Black's birthday
The official launch of the initiative that wants to make the town a go-to destination by way of a range of events and attractions, takes place this Friday – the day that would have been the country rock singer’s 84th birthday.
Organisers will reveal details of their ‘portrait of Johnny’ art competition which involves school children from across Glenrothes,that will culminate in a live art competition in May.

Hide AdA vacant Kingdom Centre shop unit will also be used as a backdrop in which to project huge images of the singer.
And the unique event has even attracted the approval of the singer’s daughter Roseanne Cash, who has publicly endorsed the initiative.
The launch starts at 11.30am this Friday (February 26) outside Rothes Halls.
