Coronavirus in Fife: Burntisland Fair cancelled for second summer

In a statement released by Fife Council, the local authority said due to the uncertainty around coronavirus restrictions and the planning time required for the Burntisland Fair, it has made the difficult decision to cancel this year's event.
This is the second year it has been shelved due to the pandemic.

Hide AdSituated on the links just yards from the beach, the traditional funfair has been a popular annual attraction for locals and visitors for years, providing entertainment of rides and side stalls for adults and children.
The statement said: “Public health concerns are the primary consideration and without assurances on capacity limitations, control requirements and safety measures, the event could present an unacceptable risk.
“The council appreciates that Burntisland Fair is an extremely popular event and that this will be disappointing for many. However, the safety and wellbeing of our local communities, visitors, traders and staff is of paramount importance.”
