If so, then a community-led charity has just the event for you and it is taking place in the town this month.

Greener Kirkcaldy is running new couch to five mile bike rides on Monday evenings in Beveridge Park. The development trust has been offering Sunday morning bike rides for two years and is delighted to announce that it is adding extra rides on Mondays, specifically for people who don’t cycle much at the moment but would like to get out on their bikes more.

The rides will run every Monday evening from May 10.

Susan Jeynes, active travel development worker, said: “These leisurely rides will be tailored to whoever comes on the night. The rides will be in and around Beveridge Park, and are ideal for people who haven’t been on a bike in a while. There will be as many breaks as needed, and people can leave early if they would like to.

“This is a great opportunity to meet some new people, and improve your fitness. Some rides will also involve going on quiet roads, helping to build up your confidence of cycling around town.”

People can come to as many of these free sessions as they like, and there is no need to come every week. Booking is essential, as spaces are limited. Places can be booked through www.greener kirkcaldy.org.uk.
