A FIFE politician was star struck recently when she met her idol, Scottish pop singer Annie Lennox.
Claire Baker, standing as a Labour candidate, recently accompanied Annie Lennox to an HIV awareness event.
Ms Baker said: “HIV/Aids turns people’s lives upside down and tears families apart.
“Fighting and preventing this disease across the world must be a global priority.
“Annie Lennox is doing great work to ensure action is taken to improve how we tackle this damaging disease wherever it appears.
“It was good to hear of the work she has been doing in Malawi as special envoy to the Scottish Branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association. From her report it is clear that challenges still face the country, but that our strong links to Malawi are making a difference.“
