Puffin' back in gear for a new season of fun at St andrews Craigtoun Park

The opening fair welcomed visitors to the park on Saturday and Sunday and packed in a plethora of entertainment for the plentiful crowds.

A familiar sight around the park is Kyffin Roberts, chairman of the Friends of Craigtoun, who was delighted to yet again herald the start of the summer park programme.

Open season at Craigtoun marks the return of the popular attractions such as the Rio Grande Railway, Puffin’ Billy tractor rides, the boating lake, crazy golf, putting, bouncy castles and pedal cars.

North east Fife MSP Willie Rennie was not one to miss out on the fun. Following his visit in which he opened the park he told the Citizen: “Craigtoun Park is a thriving, colourful and vibrant park thanks to the outstanding efforts of the volunteer Friends of Craigtoun Park and the professional council staff.

“Every visit brings back childhood memories of trips on the train, the boats and the expansive gardens so to be given the honour of opening the Park for the season was a pleasure for me.”

Run entirely by volunteers the park has no entry fee and visitors can pay for the summer-run attractions. The cafe is now fully operational offering peckish park goers sustenance from 10am-5:30pm.
