Review: Eric & Ern - bringing sunshine to the stage

The backdrop is the famous stage curtain, and there’s a moment when the two actors bound on to the stage and you’re momentarily taken aback at the likeness to Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise.
Ian Ashpitel and Jonty Stephens’ warm homage to Morcambe and Wise is hugely entertaining.

Hide AdThe gags you know off by heart still make you smile, and the routines which entertained the nation a generation or so back still work to this day.
The duo enjoyed huge success with their Eric and Ernie tribute at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe, and this was a spin-off -routines featuring just them in front of the famous curtain.
They still managed to include the legendary ‘Andrew Preview’ and. of course, Eric’s paper bag and invisible ball trick which makes folk of all ages laugh.
It’s a testimony to the strength of the original material and the duo’s own acting skills and genuine love for Morecambe and Wise that ‘Eric and Ern’ is wonderfully entertaining all these years on…
