Fife Police has advised motorists to take extra care on the roads, as weather conditions are forecast to deteriorate.

The Met Office had cause to issue an Amber warning covering Fife and parts of Tayside, Central and Lothian & Borders areas as weather conditions take a turn for the worse.

Head of Road Policing, Chief Inspector Davie McCulloch, said: “Drivers should be extra cautious in these low temperatures and beware of black ice on the roads. If you have to scrape frost and ice from your car, then you should expect the roads to be frosty and icy and drive according to the road conditions.”
