A 32-year-old man has been charged by police following the seizure of cannabis with a street value of £11,600 from a house in Glenrothes.
Officers discovered the drugs in a house in Brodie Court in the Stenton area of the town on Tuesday afternoon following a visit to the property on another matter.
The recovery is the latest in a string of cannabis-related detections for the newly formed Glenrothes Community Team as officers as they continue to target those involved in drug criminality in the community.
In February, £7000 worth of cannabis was recovered from a house in Collydean. Inspector Derek Paxton welcomed the latest result but reiterated his call for members of the public to contact the police if they suspect any criminality in their neighbourhood.
“The public are our eyes and ears in the community and we would ask them to continue to contact us if they suspect anyone of cultivation of cannabis or the sale and supply of controlled drugs to telephone Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800555111.”
