As part of National Springclean month, three local groups –SWACS (Save The Wemyss Ancient Caves Society), CLEAR (Community-Led Environmental Action for Regeneration) and LDS (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) – organised a successful Castle, Caves & Coast Clean-up on Saturday at East Wemyss.
Around 35 participants collected 40 sacks of litter, plus other rubbish, and one squad planted around 100 native tree seedlings along the Coastal Path.
Organisers reckoned it was good timing ahead of SWACS’ open day on Sunday.
CLEAR is also recruiting a community growing worker and volunteer co-ordinator for a one-year programme.
