A journey back to the Middle Ages

HISTORICAL enthusiasts from Medieval Methil were back a little earlier in the calendar, and at a new venue, for their annual celebration of life and customs in the Middle Ages.

Weather conditions on an exposed Promenade in September were becoming just a little too hazardous, so the team pitched up their tents and medieval huts recently at Letham Glen in Leven, for a two-day festival.

A blacksmith, fighting displays by the Knights of Monymusk, ‘battles’ for the children, plus demonstrations of bone carving, weaving, spinning, cookery, wool dyeing and weaponry were among the attractions.
