THE banks of the Dreel Burn in Anster were lined with ‘racegoers’ on Saturday when Anstruther Improvements Association (AIA) held its annual duck race.

It has been 20 years since the first yellow plastic ducks took to the the burgh’s waters and the event has now become an established event and an important fundraiser for the AIA.

Saturday’s race saw an impressive 800-strong raft of ducks waddle and wobble its way to the finishing line.

After the race, folk crammed into the Hew Scott Hall across the road for the judging of the Easter bonnet competion.

Our photographs shows the ducks in full flow and one of the ‘duck keepers’ charged with retrieving the entrants at the end of the race.
