Thieves have struck at a Fife dockyard stealing 150 lobsters.

Police are appealing for information following the incident, which happened happened at Methil Docks between am and am on Monday, August 22.

The fish were within a sealed container, which was partly in the water.

Sergeant Craig Fyall, from Levenmouth Police Station, said: “This might seem like a comical incident, but this is a fisherman’s livelihood and he believes the lobsters to be worth around £1,300.

“It’s likely the fish were handpicked from the container, so it would’ve been noticeable if anyone left the docks with that amount of fish.

“If anyone remembers seeing anything suspicious, or has any relevant information, please contact police.”
