The A92 has been closed between Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes after a serious road traffic collision.

The accident happened heading northbound at the Redhouse Roundabout just after 3pm.

The crash involved a car and a lorry and Police Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue and the Scottish Ambulance Service are all in attendance.

It is understood all traffic heading to Glenrothes is currently being diverted through Thornton.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police in Fife were called to the A92 between the Redhouse Roundabout and Bankhead Roundabout around 3pm.

“This was following a report of a serious road traffic collision involving a lorry and a car.

“Northbound traffic is currently being diverted and drivers are asked to follow the local diversion signs.

“The public are thanked for their patience while the police investigate the full circumstances.

“Further updates will be provided when available.”
