Police in Fife have released the names of two men who died in a road traffic collision on the A92 near Freuchie on Wednesday.

They were Richard Dickie (69) from Kirkcaldy and Alexander Kennedy (33) from Methil, who were the passenger and driver respectively in a Ford Focus which collided with a Hyundai i30.

This was being driven by a 43-year-old man, also from Fife, who is in a serious condition in hospital, and whose family do not wish to name him or give any further details at this stage.

The family of Mr Dickie have issued the following statement: “The whole family is deeply saddened by this tragedy. The loss of Richard will leave a huge hole in all of our lives.”

The family of the other deceased, Mr Alexander Kennedy, wish only his name released at this time.
