Contact Point in Buckhaven celebrated its 20 year anniversary in style with help from a very special guest star - actor Brian Cox.
Contact Point provides a range of practical and emotional supports, signposting and guidance through a structured programme of activities, resources and learning opportunities and is run by the registered charity and care provider Barony.
The service is funded primarily via Fife Council and NHS Fife and is open to individuals who experience mental illness including those who feel vulnerable or isolated in their day to day lives.
Local MSP David Torrance also visited the service open day to celebrate the milestone, and he said: “I was pleased that I was able to go along to the open day. It was interesting and gave me the opportunity to talk with staff, volunteers and service users who are involved in this programme.
“It provided me with a greater insight into the many and varied services that are available to help advise and support those who experience mental illness and may subsequently have other more practical issues to deal with.”
