Queues of eager shoppers are expected to attend the grand opening of Leven’s latest supermarket tomorrow (Thursday).
The long-awaited Aldi on Windygates Road will open its doors for the first time at 8.00 a.m., with the first 100 customers receiving a golden envelope enclosing a ticket to win a fantastic prize, including a 40” HD Ready TV and portable DVD player.
Considering the number of people who attended the opening of shops in the town such as The Salvation Army and Poundland – where no prizes were on offer – numbers may even swell beyond 100 before opening time.
The shop, on the edge of the town, has created up to 20 jobs and features 101 car parking spaces.
Area manager Philip Johnston said: “After six months of preparation, we’re looking forward to welcoming customers into our new Aldi store in Leven.
“Aldi now has a significant presence in the region, with stores in Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy, and so our team and I are really looking forward to opening the doors to people in Leven.
“With 100 golden tickets and some great ‘Special buys’ up for grabs, we’re expecting plenty of people down at the store to join in the celebrations.”
