The inaugural sportsman’s dinner to raise money for Maggie’s Fife is already a complete sell-out.

All 168 places for the event have been snapped up - less than three weeks after they went on sale.

Alistair Cameron, Maggie’s associate fundraising board member, said: “I think selling out so quickly shows the high regard in which Maggie’s is held in Kirkcaldy.

“People know about the fantastic work it does in helping people who are suffering from cancer and also their friends and families.”

Speakers on the night include Willie Allan, Eric Davidson and former referee John Rowbotham.

Alistair said: “Part of the evening will be devoted to talking about Maggie’s, and we have some fantastic prizes for auction and raffle, including a Raith Rovers top signed by all the big names from last year’s Hall of Fame – one of only four in existence.”
