Cupar Blues and Beyond Club has announced an exciting autumn programme as it approaches its 10th anniversary.

The club, founded in 2005, has steadily built up a reputation as ‘one of the finest little blues clubs this side of the pond.’

It’s not only featured local acts, but also bands and performers from all over Scotland, Britain and even the USA.

Last year, the tourist board in the Canadian state of New Brunswick chose the club to hold one of its promotional events and for the past five years it’s been chosen as a venue for the Fife Jazz and Blues Festival.

The club is still run by its four founders - Cuparians Bryan Poole, Noel Farrow, Madun Boodhna and Charlie Milne - whose aim is to keep blues alive, entertain local people and, wherever possible, donate money to charity.

Said Charlie: “We like to think that people are able to enjoy the best of live music in a friendly atmosphere and certainly we have regulars who travel a good distance to attend the monthly sessions, which are held in the function room of Watts in Cupar.”

The autumn programme launches on September 5 with an appearance by Fife-based Al Hughes and the GT’s Boos Band, who are rapidly gaining a reputation for their exciting performances.

Over the next six months, the club will host acts that include the Nimmo Brothers, Wang Dang Delta, the Fraser John Lindsay Blues Incentive, Derek Smith Duo and Baby Isaac.
