Community spirit was alive and splashing in Anstruther at the weekend when a regatta attracted rowing skiffs from both sides of the Forth.

The event was hosted by the town’s St Ayles Rowing Club and saw boats entered from fellow clubs Newburgh, St Andrews, Crail, Pittenweem, North Queensferry, Port Seton & Cockenzie, North Berwick and Royal West.

The skiffs raced are all of a design commissioned by the Scottish Fisheries Museum, which, with the Coastal Rowing Project, aims to help communities set up groups to build and race the boats.

The results were: Men’s Open - N. Berwick; Women’s Open - Anstruther; Mixed 60+ - Anstruther; Women’s 40+ - Port Seton; Mixed Open - Crail; Men’s 40+ - N. Berwick; Women’s 50+ - Anstruther; Mixed Novice - Anstruther; Mixed 50+ - Anstruther; Women’s Decades - Anstruther; Men’s Decades - Newburgh; Tug o’ War - RNLI.
