Appeal after vehicles vandalised in Newburgh

All but one of the cars parked in Whitecraig Road were scored

A total of 11 vehicles were targeted between Wednesday, March 9, and Monday, March 14.

Scratches were scored into the paintwork of all but one of the vehicles as they sat parked on Whitecraig Road.

The remaining vehicle, a blue Renault Kangoo, was vandalised while parked on the High Street sometime between 6pm on Sunday, March 13, and 6pm the following day, resulting in extensive dents to the bodywork.

Police are now carrying out inquiries in an effort to trace the person or persons responsible.

Community Sergeant Ewan Pearce, who is based at Cupar police station, said: “The majority of the vehicles were damaged between 6pm on Sunday, March 13, and 6pm on Monday, March 14, and I would be extremely keen to hear from anyone who witnessed unusual activity in the area around the time of these offences.

“This has been a mindless display of vandalism that has brought unnecessary distress to the owners as well as considerable repair costs.

“This sort of criminal behaviour is completely unacceptable and we are committed to arresting anyone involved in this activity.”
