£4.9m lottery cash for Fife

Sixty four National Lottery grants were awarded to local projects including £2,065 to Fife Floorball Club in Kirkcaldy, £146,513 to Glenrothes Men’s Shed, £197,142 to Fife Women’s Aid based in Glenrothes, and £10,000 to St Andrews Sailing Club.

Fife Floorball Club was formed in 2002 and welcomes all ages and ability. Training for kids aged eight to 14 takes place at Windmill Community Campus on Thursdays.

The purpose of Glenrothes Men’s Shed is to provide recreational facilities and advance the social needs, health and wellbeing of men and women in Glenrothes. The group meets informally every Thursday at 10am in the Lomond Centre in Woodside Way, Glenrothes.

Fife Women’s Aid offers a free and confidential service which offers support and refuge to women and children who have experienced domestic abuse in the Kingdom. St Andrews Sailing Club is based in Woodburn Place in the town welcomes all sailors regardless of experience or ability.

Projects can be nominated for a National Lottery Award in seven categories; Arts, Education, Environment, Health, Heritage, Sport and Voluntary/Charity to reflect the breadth of funding that the National Lottery invests in.
