SPORTS mad Arthur Lawson is said to be excited by being given the honour of carrying the Olympic Flame when it comes to Fife this month.
The wheelchair user from Glenrothes who represents Fife at swimming, will carry the Olympic Torch through Dairsie on June 12.
Arthur (25), is an active member of a number of disability sports clubs and plays wheelchair basketball for the Lothian Phoenix team.
He is also an active member of the No Limits club based in West Lothian where his main sport is Boccia.
On top of that Arthur is the Whizz-Kidz representative in the Scottish Youth Parliament and was recently awarded the Whizz-Kidz Young Campaigner of the Year Award at the Houses of Parliament.
He said: “I couldn’t believe it when I’d been chosen, it’s a real honour for me and my family, to be involved in such an historical event.”
