WORK on the new Auchmuty High School is progressing rapidly with another building landmark reached, the completion of the steel structure.
Headteacher Alan Pithie said: “Seeing the steel structure in place really gives the project a new sense of actuality. We are delighted that work is moving on at such a pace and there’s a growing feeling of excitement within the school. It’s quite a unique experience to be able to watch your future school spring up before your eyes and the children have found the whole process fascinating.”
The school technicians have put together a very short film, using time-lapse photography, where they show the rapid progress on the build. The pupils can then watch the film on the school’s website.
The project is currently on week 29 of an estimated 90 week building programme with external and drainage work nearly complete and the external structural framing system well underway.
