Staff and pupils at East Wemyss Primary school have been celebrating after the school was awarded over £8000.
It has received a £8228 grant from the Awards for All Scotland programme, supported by Creative Scotland, sportscotland and the Big Lottery.
Head teacher Laura Burel said everyone is “delighted” to have received the cash.
“The funding will support a number of outdoor projects to improve our school playground and garden,” said Laura.
“The children have been involved in designing our project and are very enthusiastic. This will allow the school and nursery to provide more opportunities for the children and enhance their learning experiences.”
Local MP Lindsay Roy was quick to welcome the news.
“I congratulate East Wemyss Primary School on its successful applications and would encourage others to consider whether they too might benefit from Awards for All Scotland funding.”
Under the scheme, grants of between £500 and £10,000 are available for people to take part in art, sport, heritage and community activities, and projects that promote education, the environment and health in the local community.
New applications are suspended until August 2014.
