Green-fingered Fifers were joined by Provost Jim Leishman at the ‘Beautiful Fife Gardens 2014’ awards ceremony in the Rothes Halls, Glenrothes, with many winners coming from the north east Fife area.
This event was organised to celebrate and recognise all the hard work and dedication local residents put into their gardens.
Provost Leishman presented the awards to the many winners. The overall category winners were: Flower (Formal) – Anita & Michael Adams, Freuchie; Flower (Landscaped) – Hamish Sutherland, Giffordtown; Mixed (Flower/Vegetable/Container) – William Richardson, Anstruther; Vegetable – Jim Thomson, Dalgety Bay; Hanging Basket/Container – George Henderson, Kelty.
Provost Leishman said: “The gardeners of Fife have not let us down, once again their enthusiasm, dedication and talent has shone through. The category entrants were exceptionally strong and the winners should be very proud for achieving such recognition.”
Keith Jackson, Fife Council’s parks and community events officer said: “It’s great to see the continuing support for the Fife Garden Competition. Between the individuals taking a pride in their gardens and the many communities working hard in the Beautiful Fife campaign, Fife is the real winner.”
