Children at Ceres Primary School have been given their own special role in a family fun day being held in the village this Sunday.
Youngsters were invited to enter a competition to design a banner for the event which will raise money for children’s cancer charity CCLASP.
The event, on Ceres green, has been organised by Norma Hopkins and her son Jordan Laing, who was recently given the all-clear after a year-long battle with a brain tumour.
Norma, Jordan and fellow organisers wanted to create a banner to advertise the event and their wish was made possible thanks to sponsorship from local painter and decorator Kevin Halley.
Norma said she was delighted by pupils’ efforts and three winning designs selected will all feature on the banner.
The winners were: 1 Laura Davey, 2 Rebecca Pollock, 3 Murdo Denholm. 2412161
