A vibrant musical line-up is promised at this year's Royal Highland Show, which opens on June 23.

Among the entertainment, Abba Gold - billed as the UK’s top Abba tribute band - will bring high platforms, flares and sparkle to the West Stage on Saturday, June 25

And this year will see talent from across the country, such as: Vardo Gypsy Swing, who evoke sounds of 1930’s and 1950s dancehalls; Scottish Dance Band of the Year 2013, Trail West; Opera Ecosse, a quartet of talented operatic singers; and the Ricky Macleod Kids Show, a popular magician celebrating 20 years of showmanship - four times crowned Children’s Entertainer of the Year.

As always, traditional pipes and drums will take pride of place. The Royal British Legion Band (Scotland) and Scots Guards Association Pipe Band will perform the traditional President’s Salute in the main ring on Sunday afternoon.

Regional talent such as The Broxburn and Livingston Brass Band, Clackmannan District Brass Band, Drake Music School, Edinburgh Scout and Guide Gang Show and Edinburgh Soul will be among those gracing the stages.

Returning to their “spiritual home”, the popular Farmers and Farmers Wives Choir will treat showgoers to new songs.n.

Ian Muir Ceilidh Band always get feet tapping with their jigs and reels, while stars of Celtic Connections, Dallahan, make a first appearance with their mix of Irish, Scottish and Hungarian music.
