Benefits for Fife groups thanks to Trust cash

The trust distributes funds generated through protecting the trademark of the town crest,

St Andrews Preservation Trust was the biggest winner, receiving £4000 towards the cost of establishing a sensory garden for the trust’s museum garden which has been designed by students at Cupar’s Elmwood College, who will return to the museum in September to construct the garden.

The town’s Men’s She project and St Andrews Sailing Club will also be building – they were awarded £3000 each, respectively towards the cost of a new aluminium shed and health and safety upgrades in connection with the new starter facilities they are building.

Strahtkinness Primary School pupils will be able to step up their online activities with the £2564 the have been given to upgrade their wi-fi facilities, while Madras FP Rugby Club has received £2500 to wards the cost of pitch rentals. A further £2000 was went to St Andrews Bowling Club towards the cost of a Bradshaw buggy, which enables the disabled to compete with the able-bodied, and also to Seonain McAinsh to support her book about St Andrews Ladies Golf Club

St Andrews Voices and St Andrews Air Training Corps each received £1000. The choir will put the cash towards a set building workshop for Madras pupils, while the ATC will be replacing educational materials.

And camping will be improved for the 8th Fife (St Andrews) Scout Group, who receive £700 to buy new lightweight tents.

The Community Trust has now distributed £383,609 in support of 86 organisations and 139 projects in five years.
