'bike4forty' team reaches finish line

The “bike4forty” team completed the cycle at Stewart Milne Group headquarters in Aberdeen last Friday, April 15, and have raised funds for the Archie Foundation, Beatson Cancer Charity and the Christie Cancer Charity based in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Manchester respectively.

The group set off from Manchester on Thursday, April 7, and during the cycle, which was part of the company’s 40th anniversary celebrations, visited every Stewart Milne Homes development in the country.

The Stewart Milne Group staff who took part were Aileen Beverly and Joe Morris from Aberdeen; Gary Milne and Alan Sneddon from Edinburgh; Niall Campbell, Patrick Gardiner and Stuart Henderson from Glasgow; and Manchester-based Stephen Daintith.

Gary Milne said: “The past nine days have been absolutely fantastic, along every stage of our cycle people have been out cheering us on and giving us much needed encouragement and support. It has been an absolutely incredible experience which has been made even better knowing we are raising funds for three such deserving causes.

“Before we set out we knew that there was an excellent sense of community and team spirit across Stewart Milne Group as a company, but we have been absolutely overwhelmed by the way all of our colleagues, friends, family and the local communities we have visited have all come together to support us.”

A number of companies have provided corporate sponsorship to support the team including Encon, Morton Fraser, Burness Paull, NHBC, SMEG UK, WA Fairhurst, Future Factory, Extended Mind and Eclipse Planning.
