A body has been found on the shore in West Wemyss.
Police were called to the fishing village earlier today (Wednesday) by a member of the public who made the discovery.
The body of a man has been recovered.
A formal identification of the body is still to take place, but the families of missing men David Stead (47) and Jason Buchan (35) have been informed of the discovery.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Police in Fife were called to West Wemyss today (Wednesday) where a man’s body was recovered from the shoreline.
“Officers were alerted at around 1pm by a member of the public who made the discovery.
“A formal identification will now be carried out and Family Liaison Officers have informed the relatives of the two men who were reported missing following the fishing boat tragedy, which occurred off East Wemyss on Monday, August 10.”
News broke of the discovery just a short time after the funeral of Birrell Stewart (30) who died shortly after being recovered from the water during the incident earlier this month.
