With the high cost of books and tighter budgets the council is asking that everyone has a look around the home to see if you have any school books which have been forgotten about which could be returned to the school for use by today’s pupils.

Substantial amounts of library and text books are lost to the school every year which all have to be replaced at great cost and reduces funds for other projects.

Ages Whyte, chairman of the Parent Council said: “After you have checked your own bookshelves, please pass this information onto anyone you know who has previously had a pupil at the school.

“There are thousands of pounds worth of books filling up bookshelves and cupboards in homes when they can be used in school.”

Anyone who has an old book can drop it off at the school or at one of the drop off points which are situated around the East Neuk at; Anstruther Co-op, St Monans Post Office, Crail Pharmacy, Lundin Links Post Office, Elie Chemist, Cellardyke Corner Shop and Pittenweem Pharmacy.
